Krugman: No Bill Is Better Than a Weak Bill

The principle here should not be “win at any cost.” A watered-down win leaves the banks and Wall Street in charge of the Treasury Department still, shows no principle on the part of the Democrats–espeically on the part of outgoing Senator Dodd (D-CT)–gives credence to the fear of Republicans, and shows the American people “it’s still business as usual” in Washington, all rhetoric, but no real fix to the problem. In short, the fox was put in charge of the hen house once again.
